On Sunday 12th March our Sporty Kidz Director Ellie Beagley had the privilege of attending an invite only Rugby coaching course with 3 England Rugby Players at Weybridge Vandals RFC.
The coaching course was run thanks to Old Mutual Wealth and England RFU, with professionals Nathan Hughes, Joe Launchbury and Jamie George.
Nathan Hughes and Joe Launchbury play for London Wasps and Jamie George plays for Saracens.
Ellie said:"I feel so honoured to get this opportunity today. The England Rugby team only won the six nations yesterday, and most sportsmen would be busy celebrating! These true professionals are taking their time out to give back to the game and that's what I love the most.
We have spent the afternoon learning from the greats on how to safely introduce contact in our training sessions and how to challenge children to keep on progressing in Rugby.
Having the England players and the film crew here definitely inspired our performance, as we all got stuck in and very muddy from the offset. It has been lots of fun and I have met lots of great rugby coaches who are inspiring children all around the country. I can't wait to try the new ideas with our Sporty Kidz!"
